The fog is thick in Gillette Stadium, and it doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Patriots. The Falcons, however, have been unable to get into the end zone. It may have something to do with the fact that offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is calling plays from the booth.
Falcons OC Steve Sarkisian is calling plays from the booth. Is the fog a factor?
That may help explain why the Falcons look so inept on offense.

NBC had to change its camera angles for the Sunday Night Football broadcast because the fog was too heavy for viewers at home to see the action on the field. Sarkisian’s point of view from the booth may be a problem in these conditions.
Whatever the reason, the Falcons were in a position to score early in the fourth quarter, and they couldn’t punch it into the end zone.
Atlanta had a third-and-goal from the 1-yard line. The play call was a pass intended for Julio Jones that went incomplete. With time ticking away, the Falcons had to go for it on fourth down. Sarkisian called a handoff to Taylor Gabriel. Gabriel actually lost six yards on the play, and the Falcons turned it over on downs.
The fog isn’t an excuse for the Falcons, who haven’t scored a single point since the first half of their Week 6 loss to the Dolphins. But Sarkisian being in the booth might be part of the problem given the foggy conditions.
