The Philadelphia Eagles entered Monday with a lot of momentum and the NFL’s longest winning streak, but that definitely didn’t translate into a hot start against Washington.
Eagles offense opens ‘Monday Night Football’ with 4 straight penalties and an interception
Well that’s not the best way to start a game.

After Washington opened the game with a field goal on its first possession, Philadelphia just went in the wrong direction.
First, it was an offensive pass interference on Alshon Jeffery. Then, a block in the back on Zach Ertz. Then, a holding on Lane Johnson. And finally 12 men in the huddle. Just like that, the Eagles were left with this:
After a 2-yard run, Carson Wentz hurled a ball up for grabs that wasn’t close to his receiver and was easily intercepted. Considering the Eagles were backed up near their own goal line, his 57-yard heave wasn’t that bad.
Wake up, Eagles. It’s time to play football.
