Anthony Davis exited the Pelicans’ Tuesday night matchup against the Trail Blazers with a left knee injury. The severity of his injury is not immediately clear, but he did not return to the game.

Davis bumped knees with Moe Harkless while setting a screen in the second quarter. It marks yet another injury in Davis’ career. He has never played an entire season.

The Pelicans drafted Davis, one of the premier big men in the NBA and the reigning All-Star MVP, in 2012. But every season he has had unfortunate run-ins with injury. Last year, he played 75 games, the most in a single season of his career.

Losing Davis is yet another blow to New Orleans, which has already lost both Rajon Rondo, Solomon Hill and Frank Jackson to injuries. Now, the brunt of the offensive load will fall on DeMarcus Cousins, who is already averaging 28 points, 11.7 rebounds, five assists and three blocks through the first three games of the season.
