The Baltimore Ravens will have to rely on Ryan Mallett to lead the way after a huge hit delivered to Joe Flacco sent him to the locker room. The late hit on a sliding quarterback knocked off Flacco’s helmet and drew an unnecessary roughness penalty, but the Ravens weren’t happy with only a flag as punishment.
Ravens, Dolphins scuffle after late hit on Joe Flacco
The late hit on Joe Flacco infuriated many Ravens player and coach John Harbaugh.

It understandably infuriated many Ravens players, including offensive lineman Ryan Jensen who immediately went after Kiko Alonso. Jensen was then leveled by Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
When Alonso finally left the scrum, he was without a helmet and had Ravens coach John Harbaugh in his face.
The NFL allows for an immediate ejection of a player who delivers a flagrant hit, and it certainly wouldn’t have been surprising if officials disqualified Alonso for the game. Instead, he stayed in and that left Harbaugh and others on the Baltimore sideline furious.
Mallett led the Ravens to a touchdown to complete the drive and extend the Ravens’ lead to 20-0. But without Flacco, the Ravens’ underwhelming offense faces an even steeper uphill climb to keep the foot on the pedal.
