Nick Folk had the worst ‘Thursday Night Football’ a kicker could have

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had kicking issues for a while now. They cut Roberto Aguayo prior to the start of the season after trading up to draft him in the second round of the 2016 NFL draft. Nick Folk was his successor, but he hasn’t been successful either.

He had a poor showing on Thursday Night Football against the Patriots, going 0-for-3 on his attempts while making two extra points. It ended up being the difference in the Bucs going for a touchdown instead of a field goal at the end of the game in what was a 19-14 loss.

We’ll just include Folk’s third missed field goal, which was a 31-yarder — shorter than an extra point.

Prior to that kick, Folk missed kicks of 56 and 49 yards — neither of which are exactly guarantees for anybody.

After the short miss, Folk was seen with his head down, with a member of the Buccaneers’ staff appearing to help cheer him up.

Punter Bryan Anger was trying to act like the whole scene wasn’t going on next to him. It was awkward.
