The New York Giants finally got some points early in a game, although it came via a gift from the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense.
Giants finally get 1st quarter points thanks to the Chargers offense screwing up
After four scoreless first quarters, the Giants finally got some points early.

After a Brad Wing punt pinned the Chargers inside the 10, a miscue between Philip Rivers and his center led to a snap that fell in the end zone. Rivers did the smart thing and tossed the ball through the back of the end zone for a safety with Giants defenders coming quick and aiming for a touchdown.
With the safety, the Giants took a 2-0 lead and got points in the first quarter for the first time in 2017.
The New York offense started the game with two punts, but finally got some first-quarter points of its own when Orleans Darkwa ran for a 23-yard touchdown that gave the Giants a 9-0 lead.
You’ve got to start somewhere, right?
