On Sunday night after Sheldon Mac was literally carried out of the game by two of the Wizards trainers, it was feared he had torn his Achilles tendon. Come Monday morning, a report from Shams Charania confirmed it was true.
Sheldon Mac out 6-8 months with a torn achilles, per report
Mac tore his achilles against the Cavaliers on Sunday night.

Mac will have surgery on his torn Achilles Tuesday. He was an up-and-coming player in the Wizards’ rotation and one of their younger, developmental projects. He had been playing as a combo guard behind Bradley Beal and Jodie Meeks throughout the preseason.
It’s unclear what the Wizards will do with his roster spot now. Because he signed a partially guaranteed contract last season with Washington, they’d owe him $1.3 million in salary this year according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
After his injury, Mac tweeted this out last night and said “God don’t make no mistakes and I’m gone ride with that.”
Money aside, it’s always terrible to see a player go down with an injury like this. It’s a setback for a young player who just found his way onto an NBA roster. Hopefully, once Mac recovers, he doesn’t lose his stride.
