The first two weeks of the NBA season have featured a ton of surprising trends that most of us didn’t predict. Is that a sign of things to come, or is that because this is the first two weeks of the NBA season?

We dove into some of those trends on this week’s podcast. Among the topics discussed:

  • The Cavaliers aren’t actually this bad, right?
  • The Magic aren’t actually this good, right?
  • The Pistons aren’t actually this good, right?
  • The Pacers definitely aren’t this good, but maybe Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis are.
  • Kristaps Porzingis is this good, but maybe not quite this good? Or maybe he is?
  • Will the Celtics continue to be one of the league’s best defensive teams? Will Jayson Tatum keep this up?
  • Lonzo Ball’s shooting is very bad. Just wanna point that out.
  • Ben Simmons is an All-Star quality player right now. That won’t continue, right?
  • It’s pretty fun watching DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis! Less fun: watching the other Pelicans.
  • More Giannis Antetokounmpo love.
  • Some interesting league trends, including the continued rise of three-point shooting and the super-fast pace.
