The Browns are the only team that hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher or 300-yard passer

Sure, they’re not winning actual games. But maybe this is a comfort for Browns fans.

The Browns aren’t doing many things well. They’re the only team in the NFL that has yet to win a single game this year. Hue Jackson is nine games into his second season as Cleveland’s head coach. He has a 1-24 record so far.

But take heart, Browns fans. Your favorite team is the best in the league in two very specific categories.

Cleveland has faced some decent running backs and quarterbacks. Le’Veon Bell had just 32 yards against Cleveland in Week 1, and Ben Roethlisberger put up 263 yards in the air. The Browns held Marcus Mariota to 203 yards and DeMarco Murray had just 59 yards against them in Week 7. And in the Browns’ loss to the Lions in Week 10, Matthew Stafford put up 249 yards and Ameer Abdullah had just 52 yards.

The Jaguars are next up for the Browns. It shouldn’t be too tough to keep Blake Bortles under 300 yards. But Leonard Fournette has passed the 100-yard mark three times over seven games. He’ll be a bigger challenge for the Browns.

The Browns defense has allowed 26.7 points per game, which puts them No. 30 in the league. Not great. The offense is only averaging 15.9 points per game, making them the second-worst scoring offense this season.

But it is encouraging that the Browns are limiting yards on the ground and through the air. That’s something they can build around. And Browns fans deserve something to be happy about this season.
