Former NFL wide receiver Terry Glenn dies in car accident

Glenn was 43 years old.

Former NFL wide receiver Terry Glenn died from injuries suffered in a car accident on Monday morning, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Glenn was just 43 years old.

Glenn played 12 years in the NFL with the Patriots, Packers, and Cowboys. He also caught Tom Brady’s first NFL touchdown pass 16 years ago.

Glenn was drafted No. 7 overall by the Patriots in 1996, after three seasons at Ohio State where he had 1,677 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns. Of those yards, 1,411 and all of his touchdowns came in his junior season, where the Buckeyes went 11-2.

In 1999, Glenn got his first and only Pro Bowl nod after having 69 receptions for 1,147 yards and four touchdowns. His best season was his rookie season, when he had 90 receptions for 1,132 yards and six touchdowns.

He would play six years with the Patriots, before one season with the Packers in 2002, and finishing up his career through 2006 with the Cowboys. He had 593 receptions for 8,823 yards and 44 touchdowns in his 12 NFL seasons.
