Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson goes down against Alabama with non-contact injury

Oh no.

This is awful news, if it’s serious. In the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against Alabama, Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson went down with an apparent non-contact injury during a run.

It initially looked to be a lower leg injury of some sort, but CBS’ Gary Danielson said it could be his left shoulder. He left the game to go to the locker room after the injury.

He was helped off the field with trainers, but walking with some ginger.

Johnson entered the game as a potential Heisman contender. He leaves with 104 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries against the Tide. On the season, he entered the game with 1,172 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns.

Johnson’s back-up, running back Kam Martin, looked to have suffered an injury on the next play, too.

We will update this post as soon as more information comes available.
