Week 13 is the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” week in which players get to wear customized cleats for one game and promote charitable efforts that are near and dear to them.
Dak Prescott’s cleats are a tribute to his mother who died from cancer
Peggy Prescott died while Dak was still at Mississippi State.

For Thursday night’s game against Washington, Dak Prescott wore cleats that said “FAITH” on them in tribute to his mother, who died of colon cancer.
Prescott’s mother died in November of 2013 when he played at Mississippi State. Now he’s raising awareness for the disease.
Along with Prescott, other members of the Cowboys are wearing customized cleats. Jason Witten’s are directed at domestic violence, and Travis Frederick’s raises awareness on hunger.
According to the Cowboys, other players wearing customized cleats include Zack Martin, Orlando Scandrick, Kavon Frazier, Ryan Switzer, Joe Looney, Byron Jones, Chris Jones, Sean Lee, Tyrone Crawford, and Keith Smith.
“One of the great NFL traditions is how our players passionately support important causes in their communities and around the globe every year,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in 2016. “They are incredibly creative by nature so we are not surprised how they are seizing the opportunity this week with inspiring expressions of their charitable commitments on their cleats, online and through social media.”
Keep an eye for more great tributes like Prescott’s going into Sunday.
