Falcons fans thought the team had another timeout because FOX forgot to change the display

Wondering why Dan Quinn didn’t call a timeout on the Panthers’ last possession? He didn’t have one.

You may have wondered why Falcons head coach Dan Quinn didn’t use a timeout at any point during the Panthers’ last drive. What a colossal coaching mistake — except Quinn didn’t actually have a timeout to use.

The FOX broadcast showed that both the Falcons and Panthers had one timeout remaining. If the Falcons had a timeout, they could have forced a Carolina field goal and would have trailed by six. They would have had time to try to get into the end zone again for a win.

FOX was wrong. And people were mad online about it.

Quinn used the team’s last time out with 1:37 left to play. FOX finally removed the timeout from its display with 13 seconds left in the game.

The Falcons dropped to 4-4 with the 20-17 loss to the Panthers. Dan Quinn surely wishes he would have had a timeout left on that last Panthers possession.
