Alex Smith came into the Chiefs’ Week 9 game against the Cowboys without an interception all season. In the fourth quarter of the game, that streak ended.

It was a long streak, but had to come to an end eventually.


Jeff Heath, who played kicker for the Cowboys in Week 7, was able to pick off the Smith pass.
Smith went 298 passes between interceptions, which was the fifth-longest streak in NFL history. Smith now holds two of the top five streaks without an interception.
Last week, Tyreek Hill threw the Chiefs’ first interception on the season after some trickery. Smith also fumbled it last week, seemingly preparing us for what happened Sunday afternoon in Arlington.
Even though he threw an interception, there’s at least 31 other NFL quarterbacks who would trade their turnovers for his. We’ll see how Smith responds moving forward.
