Washington needed a touchdown in the final two minutes against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9 and Josh Doctson came to the rescue with a diving grab that set up his team on the doorstep.
Here’s why Josh Doctson’s catch against the Seahawks wasn’t ruled a TD
Josh Doctson’s catch wasn’t a touchdown, but it saved the day for Washington anyway.

Doctson caught the pass with full extension and somehow pulled it into his right shoulder without ever letting it come close to touching the ground.
Replay showed there was no doubt that Doctson caught the ball and it showed that he wasn’t touched down by Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin. However, slow motion also showed that officials were correct to rule him short of the goal line as he was touched in time.
Doctson, 24, had a frustrating start to his NFL career that was limited by injuries. But he’s beginning to make his mark on the Washington offense and has three touchdown receptions in 2017.
While his catch against the Seahawks wasn’t a touchdown, it put Washington on the 1-yard line and set up a short touchdown for Robert Kelley that gave his team a 17-14 lead with about a minute remaining.
