Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan were all fined $15,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for criticizing the officials after Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

The Thunder players and their coach were all vocal with their critiques after Carmelo Anthony was ejected from Sunday’s game after what was initially called an and-1 for Anthony was turned into a flagrant-2 foul against him. Anthony elbowed Jusuf Nurkic in the face on a shot attempt at the rim.

The Thunder were also miffed after Russell Westbrook received a flagrant-1 foul after this play.

The foul on Westbrook was eventually rescinded and ruled a common foul.

Here was the official explanation for why Anthony was ejected.

Westbrook had some pretty not-safe-for-work things to say about the call on Anthony.

Anthony was the only one of the group who had a calm reaction to the call.

The league upheld the flagrant-2 on Anthony despite his pleas for them to do otherwise. In the future, it’ll be interesting to see how calls involving the Thunder go. One thing we can be sure of, though, is that they’ll be vocal no matter what.
