Feast your eyes on the sleek new ‘NBA2K’ League logo!
The League is coming!

The 2K League season is almost here. It’s nearly time for you to grab the sticks and start prepping to qualify for the league. As long as you’re over 18, you have a chance to compete in this league. Well, unless you’re not that good at 2K.
Whether you’re just a fan of eSports, the NBA, or both, feast your eyes on the new logo:
Rodney Richardson and his company, RARE Design, are the masterminds behind the logo. This isn’t the first time that RARE Design has worked with the NBA. The company is responsible for some of the fresh logo redesigns that have popped up around the league over the last few years.
“Rodney is extraordinarily talented and I think it was nice for us for him to help us with the league’s identity and the branding,” says Brendan Donohue, the managing director of NBA 2K League.
As you can tell, it’s obvious that the logo would resemble a basketball because ‘Ball is Life,’ but let’s glance at the other differences.
Since the 2K League is a collaborative effort, it’s only right that the logo emphasizes that detail. The font comes from the NBA 2K logo, while the colors and shape are inspired by the NBA logo we know and love today (even if Jerry West thinks it should be changed).
There is no Jerry West silhouette in the logo, which Donohue says is designed to emphasize the inclusive goals the league aspires to have.
“The absence of that silhouette is important to us because it actually represents the fact that there is no prototypical NBA 2K League athlete. Man, woman, tall, short, young, old, domestic, or international. We’re looking to find the best 85 players in the world regardless of their background.”
The 17 NBA teams involved in the league will reveal their names and logos in the near future.
