Josh Gordon has been back for 2 games and he’s already beefing with a cornerback on Twitter

Randall held Gordon to one catch in man coverage on Sunday.

Josh Gordon is back on the field after three years away from the NFL. It took him just two games to start beef with a cornerback on Twitter.

Gordon retweeted an article by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the Browns’ loss to the Packers. In it, Packers cornerback Damarious Randall shared his thoughts on Gordon’s play.

“He had one catch,” Randall said. “Any more questions?”

Gordon didn’t have any questions, but he did have some things to say about it.

Randall begged to differ, with what seems to be an unnecessary shot at Gordon’s history with substance abuse.

Gordon was reinstated from an indefinite suspension for multiple violations of the league’s policy on substance abuse and returned to the field last week. He had three catches for 69 yards and a touchdown in his second game back with the Browns. And to be fair, two of those catches came when Gordon was working out of the slot. The other one did come against Randall.

“I matched him the whole game (when the Packers were in man coverage),” Randall said. “When he was in the slot, we were in zone.”

Browns head coach Hue Jackson said he’d prefer Gordon let his play do the talking.

The Browns very nearly got their first win of the season. But they let Green Bay score two unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter to tie things up and send the game to overtime. DeShone Kizer threw an interception in overtime, and Green Bay quarterback Brett Hundley was able to connect with Davante Adams for the winning score. Still, Gordon gave Browns fans reason for hope, and it wasn’t just because of his play.

The Packers were forced to adjust to contain Gordon, which opened things up for wide receiver Corey Coleman and running back Isaiah Crowell to make plays. Crowell had 121 yards on the ground and Coleman had five catches for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Gordon doesn’t seem too concerned what Randall — or anyone else — thinks about him.

The Browns are just three losses away from a perfect winless season. At least having Gordon back makes this year more entertaining.
