The Giants made it a game. But even without Carson Wentz, the Eagles were able to squeak by with a 34-29 win in New York.
Eagles hold on to beat Giants 34-29 in first game with Nick Foles as starter
The Eagles improve to 12-2, even without Carson Wentz.

The Eagles locked up a playoff bid last week with their win over the Rams. But they lost their starting quarterback and MVP candidate Carson Wentz to a torn ACL in the process.
Nick Foles had a solid game filling in for Wentz against the Giants. He threw for 237 yards and four touchdowns.
The Giants threatened to take a late-game lead. Eli Manning led a 13-play, 60-yard drive in the fourth quarter. But on fourth down with just 48 seconds left in the game, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Sterling Shepard killed the drive and the Giants turned it over on downs.
Manning had his best game of the season by far. He finished with 434 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick. It’s the most yards Manning has thrown for since he had 366 yards when the Giants faced the Eagles back in Week 3. The offensive line was adequate. They only allowed one sack and three hits on Manning.
Sterling Shepard had 139 yards and a score, and Tavarres King had 70 yards and two touchdowns. But it wasn’t enough to pull off a surprise win over the top team in the NFC.
The Eagles improve to 12-2 and secured a first-round bye in the playoffs with the win. The Giants fall to 2-12 with the loss.
