Jadeveon Clowney filled the trash cans he got from Jaguars fans with toys for charity

Hats off to Jadeveon Clowney for this.

When Jacksonville Jaguars fans trolled Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, he used it as an opportunity to make the holidays special for children in the Houston area.

It all started with a 45-7 win for the Jaguars in Week 15 that saw Blake Bortles throw for 326 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Despite his big day, Clowney didn’t have nice things to say about the Jaguars quarterback.

“He’s trash,” Clowney told reporters after the game.

Jaguars fans took advantage of the opportunity to poke at the Texans defensive end by shipping trash cans to NRG Stadium in Houston with Clowney as the addressee. He didn’t appear to be amused when he spoke to reporters Thursday.

“I’m done with the Jaguars. Don’t ask me no Jaguars questions. Any more questions?” Clowney told reporters.

But that’s when the story really turns into a positive one. On Friday, Clowney tweeted that he’ll be filling the trash cans from Jaguars fans — and an entire truck too — with toys that he’ll give to Mission of Yahweh, an emergency and transitional home in Houston for homeless women and children.

Clowney signed a four-year, $22.27 million contract with the Texans after he was selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The team picked up the fifth-year option on his deal which is due to pay him $13.8 million in 2018 and he’s likely to get another big contract after that.

There’s nothing wrong with a little trash talk, but it’s really great when it turns into a positive situation for all parties involved. Hats off to Clowney.
