Former NFL running back Trent Richardson has been arrested in Hoover, Ala. on a domestic violence charge, according to AL.com.

The police responded to a call on Thursday night at 8:04 p.m. in which a possible domestic disturbance was reported at the Hyatt Place Hotel on John Hawkins Parkway. A second call was placed a minute later, with someone reporting yelling from a guest room.

Officers were able to get in contact with with the man and woman involved, with the man later being identified as Richardson. Police interviewed both of them, where they determined that the two had been arguing at a Walmart. The argument then carried on to the hotel.

Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector told AL.com that the argument turned physical, with the female receiving scratches and bruising to her face. According to AL.com, the Hoover Fire Department paramedics were sent to check on the victim’s injuries. She was treated on the scene, and didn’t need further medical attention.

“He was cooperative,” Rector said. “He was arrested without incident.”

Richardson has been charged with third-degree domestic violence, with bond set at $1,000. A court date has yet to be set.

Richardson was drafted in 2012 by the Cleveland Browns, and was ultimately traded to the Indianapolis Colts two games into his second season in the league. Shortly after the 2014 season, the team released him.

He went to training camp with the Raiders in 2015, but was cut before the season started. The Ravens brought him in during April of this past season, but released him in August.
