Iona’s Jordan Washington suffers awful freak leg injury slipping on wet spot in NCAA tournament

Washington had a great first half before the injury.

Iona’s Jordan Washington suffered a freak injury towards the end of the first half against Oregon, in which he slipped and appeared to hurt his left leg.

Washington slipped on the floor, and immediately went down, screaming in pain. He was able to put weight on the leg, but buried his face in a towel as he was being tended to by trainers on the bench.

Washington had a great first half, with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting for the Gaels. Oregon was able to close out the half strong, taking a 55-37 lead into the locker room.

Luckily for the Gaels, he would return for the second half of the game.
