We learned on Wednesday that the NFL would be developing an educational training video for players to “show clear examples of appropriate and inappropriate celebrations.”

Exact details on the video aren’t yet known, but we have an idea of things that might be on the video, like Antonio Brown’s celebrations where he’s either twerking or thrusting. And the reception hasn’t been positive so far.
Bruce Irvin tweeted that the NFL should be worried about other things. Packers tight end Martellus Bennett did as well, but he went further than that.
Bennett added that he wanted something that would help the players, and that spending time and money to worry about celebrations was a waste.
He didn’t stop there:
Bennett’s wish that the league would just let the players be themselves is one that seems pretty common. He noted that NBA players are allowed to do such, and market themselves because of it. That’s not the case in the NFL:

Bennett has never been afraid to speak his mind. He said before and after the Super Bowl that he wouldn’t be visiting the White House because he doesn’t support President Donald Trump. He’s also given his perspective on being black in America on Twitter.
Bennett has a wonderful way of getting his point across, and is unapologetic about it. It’s what makes Marty B himself.
