Buzz Williams making a mess out of his dress shirts during games isn’t exactly a new phenomenon. The Virginia Tech head coach might be college basketball’s most infamous in-game sweater since former Maryland coach Gary Williams.
Why is Buzz Williams bleeding at the ACC tournament?
The first great mystery of March is upon us.

The situation was a bit different on Wednesday evening during Virginia Tech’s second round ACC tournament game against Wake Forest.
It was no surprise that early in the first half, Williams had already shed his jacket. What was a surprise was that Williams had a peculiar smudge on his left shoulder.
Viewers immediately speculated that the smudge was blood. Some truthers responded that the smudge appeared to be too brown to be blood.
Regardless, Williams changed dress shirts at halftime. When the stain reappeared and was treated during the second half, ESPN’s Doris Burke confirmed that Williams was indeed dealing with a blood stain.
So why was Buzz Williams bleeding relatively profusely through his left shoulder?
Gangs of New York-style throw down with the Dead Rabbits before the game?
Knife fight with Danny Manning during shootaround?
Or has he simply reached a point where this is all he has left to sweat?
We have many questions, but we don’t have any answers. Yet.
UPDATE:
We have an answer ... sort of ... I think
Yeah I still have no idea what happened here
