“I’ve spent my whole career with the Dallas Cowboys,” veteran quarterback Tony Romo thinks to himself, “and I don’t know what I’m going to do now that I’ve been released. I feel like I’ve got a few good years left in me, so I hope I can land somewhere new.”

Ring! Ring!

It’s Romo’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, on the phone.

“Hey, Tony. A GM called me, and his team is interested in signing you,” Sexton says.

“Oh, wow! Which team is it?” Romo asks.

To choose the Denver Broncos, go to page 18.
To choose the New York Jets, go to page 11.

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Broncos are the best fit for me. That offensive line situation is a little scary.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. “I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

“Oh, really? Which other teams?” Romo asks.

To choose the San Francisco 49ers, go to page 49.
To choose the Houston Texans, go to page 17.

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Texans are the best fit for me. How are they even going to pay me? Their cap situation is hellish and they still owe Osweiler a ton of guaranteed money this year.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

“Oh, really? Which other teams?” Romo asks.

To choose the Browns, go to page 115.
To choose the Bears, go to page 85.

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Jets are the best fit for me. They’re jettisoning veterans to try and get younger, and they seem to be in a total rebuild. I’m too old for these shenanigans.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. “I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

“Oh, really? Which other teams?” Romo asks.

To choose the Bears, go to page 85.
To choose the Browns, go to page 115.

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. Perhaps you’ll finally be the guy to emerge as a franchise quarterback in Cleveland after years and years and years of trying. You’re an upgrade over every single one of the five quarterbacks who started games for the Browns last season, and you’ll be making a whole lot of money to do it.

Page 6

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Bears are the best fit for me. They’re rebuilding, and I wanted to play for a contender. I don’t think the Bears qualify this season.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. “I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

To choose the Broncos, go to page 18.
To choose the Browns, go to page 115.

Page 7

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Niners are the best fit for me. They’ve got a long way to go before they’ll have the talent to be competitive, and I’m not getting any younger.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. “I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

“Oh, really? Which other teams?” Romo asks.

To choose the Jets, go to page 11.
To choose the Bears, go to page 85.

Page 8

“Gee, I don’t know,” Romo says. “I don’t think the Browns are the best fit for me. They won one game last season, and they seem perfectly willing to let their best receiver walk in free agency despite having about a billion dollars to spend. They’re a hot mess.”

“No problem, Tony,” says Sexton. “I’ve got other teams calling me. You’re a hot commodity on this quarterback market.”

“Oh, really? Which other teams?” Romo asks.

To choose the Texans, go to page 17.
To choose the 49ers, go to page 49.

Page 9

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the Chicago Bears. You’ve got the track record of success the team needs, but elevating the talent around you into playoff contention this season is going to be a tall order.

Page 10

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the Houston Texans, a team that made it to the postseason last year on the strength of its top-ranked defense, which will get J.J. Watt back this season. You’re joining a team with an offensive-minded head coach in Bill O’Brien, and solid offensive pieces in Lamar Miller and DeAndre Hopkins.

Page 11

“It’s Mike Maccagnan with the New York Jets,” Sexton says. “Ryan Fitzpatrick is gone after throwing 12 touchdowns against 17 interceptions last season, and they are in desperate need of some stability at quarterback.”

The Jets just moved on from longtime starting center Nick Mangold, and also parted ways with wide receiver Brandon Marshall, one of the team’s leading receivers last season.

To sign with the Jets, go to page 19.
To hold out for another team, go to page 4.

Page 12

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have a dominant defense, and also plenty of talent to work with on your side of the ball in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Peyton Manning went to Denver in the twilight of his career, and was able to retire after a Super Bowl win. You’re the final piece Denver needs to get back into playoff contention this season.

Page 17

“The Texans? But they just signed Brock Osweiler to a four-year, $72 million contract!” Tony says.

“Yeah, but Brock Osweiler was terrible last season. They need a quarterback, and they think you’re the answer. What do you think? You’ll get to stay in Texas,” Sexton says.

“They do have a talented offense. DeAndre Hopkins would be fun to play with, and Lamar Miller is good, too,” Romo says.

Should Romo sign with the Texans?

To choose the Houston Texans, go to page 10.
To hold out for another team, go to page 3.

Page 18

“Well, Tony, it’s John Elway with the Denver Broncos. You see, the Broncos went from having Peyton Manning and winning a Super Bowl to relying on Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch last season,” Sexton says.

The Broncos have a great defense, but a shaky offensive line. Romo has spent most of the past two seasons on injured reserve, so that’s a risky proposition. Should he sign with the Broncos?

To sign with the Broncos, go to page 12.
To hold out for another team, go to page 2.

Page 19

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the New York Jets. Here’s hoping the Jets are able to hit on some offensive line and receiving talent to help you out for 2017. They don’t have a ton of cap space to go after players in free agency, particularly after they pay you.

Page 49

“Well, Tony, it’s John Lynch with the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners’ new head coach is Kyle Shanahan, who was the mastermind behind the Falcons’ top-scoring offense last season,” Sexton says.

The 49ers need to add quite a bit of talent on both sides of the ball to be competitive this season, but they do have a lot of cap space and the second overall pick to do so. The 49ers also just signed quarterback Brian Hoyer, so now Romo’s got some competition there. Should Tony Romo sign with the 49ers?

To sign with the 49ers, go to page 214.
To hold out for another team, go to page 7.

Page 85

“Well, Tony, it’s Ryan Pace with the Chicago Bears. The Bears are moving on from Jay Cutler, so they’re in need of a quality quarterback.” Sexton says.

The Bears have plenty of young talent, but they’re smack dab in the middle of a rebuild, and Romo is in the twilight of his career and said he wants to play for a contender. Should Romo sign with the Bears?

To sign with the Bears, go to page 9.
To hold out for another team, go to page 6.

Page 115

“Well, Tony, it’s Sashi Brown with the Cleveland Browns,” Sexton says. “The Browns are tired of adding quarterback names to their cape of sadness, and they want a seasoned veteran who can come in and galvanize the offense.”

The Browns have a boatload of money to spend, and Romo would be the best quarterback acquired by the team since it was reinstated in Cleveland back in 1999 and drafted Tim Couch with the first overall pick. Cleveland also has 11 picks in this year’s draft — including the first and No. 12 overall selections — to add talent for Romo to work with on offense and bolster the defense.

Should Romo sign with the Browns?

To sign with the Browns, go to page 5.
To hold out for another team, go to page 8.

Page 214

Congratulations, Tony Romo! You’re the new quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners have a lot of work to do to rebuild the team, but you’ll be working with one of the best offensive minds in the game with Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco.
