Dion Jordan’s journey towards redemption starts now. Just over a week after being cut by the Dolphins, the defensive end has signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to USA Today’s Tom Pelissero. Jordan will look to revive his career after a disappointing four-year stint in Miami.
Dion Jordan looks to revive his career after signing with Seahawks
After a disappointing four years with the Dolphins, Seattle is giving Jordan a fresh start.

The third overall pick in the 2013 draft, Jordan never lived up to his billing in Miami, totaling just three sacks and an unimpressive 26 games played.
Jordan served a season-long suspension in 2015 for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy for a third time in his brief career. The defensive end also had some medical issues during his suspension and was unable to take the field in 2016 after going through two knee surgeries.
At 6’6 and 275 pounds, Jordan is a physical specimen who still has sky-high potential if he’s healthy following those surgeries. His ability to develop and his issues with substances and injuries are things to be concerned with. If he does manage to redeem himself, though, Jordan should be a force to be reckoned with.
Seattle has a tough defense, and the Seahawks are a good landing spot for Jordan. Jordan can be a complementary piece to the formidable trio of Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, and Frank Clark, who combined for 26.5 sacks last season.
Jordan is not the only 2013 draft bust the Seahawks brought in this offseason. He joins second overall pick Luke Joeckel, who washed out with the Jaguars and was signed by Seattle in March, and 2013 second-round pick Arthur Brown. Eddie Lacy, another second-rounder that year, also signed with the Seahawks this offseason.
