Morning Skate: The Minnesota Timberwolves must read our Coyotes blog

Hmmm.

You love hockey. You love SB Nation. You love reading hockey at SB Nation. Search your feelings. You know these things are true. But life’s too busy to browse the whole network for news. So we’ll send hockey news to your inbox every morning. All you need to do is subscribe.

Lace ‘em up. Time for the Morning Skate.

You might recall that an Arizona Coyotes goalie essentially wore one of our old logos on his mask all season. We found that amusing and flattering even though his mask-maker denied it.

But now this is getting weird.

You might have noticed the Minnesota Timberwolves have a new logo. You might have noticed it looks like the Arizona Coyotes logo.

You might have noticed it looks even more like another logo ...

You’re welcome?

GOALIES GALORE

NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-New York Rangers at Montreal Canadiens

We predicted that Henrik Lundqvist would be the key player in Game 1 between the Habs and Rangers. We were right! Rangers-Habs debut with a goalie duel, with Lundqvist shutting out the Canadiens with one heck of a game.

Goalies defined the first night of the playoffs. Jake Allen and Cam Talbot served up “save of the playoffs” contenders within seconds of each other.

Matt Murray injured himself in warmups, forcing Marc-Andre Fleury to step in and win Game 1 for the Penguins.

And Tuukka Rask saved Boston’s bacon, letting them overcome something that hasn’t happened in 78 years.
