The Detroit Lions unveiled their new uniforms for season ticket holders at Ford Field on Thursday night. Nike then later released photos of the new threads, which actually seem pretty nice, even though they look similar to their old ones.
Lions’ new uniforms look awfully similar to their old ones
The throwbacks are back, and there’s a new Color Rush uniform.

The Lions have home and away jerseys, both of which feature a more sleek number on the uniform in comparison to the last jersey. Combined with subtle changes to the helmet design the Lions’ uniforms are still close to what they had, but enough of a difference where they look better.
Here’s what they debuted on Thursday evening.
The Lions have a new Color Rush uniform
The gray uniforms, or as Nike calls them, “anthracite” are pretty clean as well. Nike says they are “inspired by the submetallic luster of dark steel grey.”
The home and away jerseys feature a tribute
The sleeves on the uniforms feature a larger stripe inside of two smaller stripes, with “WCF” on it in honor of the team’s previous owner, William Clay Ford, Sr.
Their wonderful throwbacks make a return
Sure, they’re plain. But that “Honolulu Blue” with a straight silver hat and pants to go with the blue socks makes for a clean looking uniform. The “Honolulu Blue” made its debut in 1934, and the uniforms are meant to be a replication of those specific uniforms.
