Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones lashed out at a reporter on Monday after he was asked about his offseason arrest. Jones told reporters he wouldn’t “talk about court,” stemming from his January arrest in which he allegedly pushed and poked a hotel employee in the eye, refused to cooperate with police, and later spit on a nurse.

Jones was arrested back in January, and told reporters he wouldn’t answer questions about the subject.

Jones first answered a question about what it meant to still be with the Bengals after his arrest, praising his teammates and head coach Marvin Lewis in response. Be he was set off right after when a reporter asked whether he had anything to say to the fans.
“Didn’t I just tell you don’t ask me that?” Jones said, via the Dayton Daily News’ Jay Morrison.
“You out the [interview]. Turn around. Go back that way. See you. Next question. That’s his last interview for the year.” Afterward, Morrison says that the reporter complied, but Jones continued to go after the reporter, who walked away from Jones’ locker.
Jones then walked to the restroom after the interview and yelled at the reporter for asking “stupid ass [expletive] questions.” When he returned from the restroom, Jones continued, and told the reporter to “shut the [expletive] up,” according to Morrsion.
Head coach Marvin Lewis eventually made his way to the locker room, and helped calm Jones down.
Jones was charged with three misdemeanors from the arrest that was in question — assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business — including a felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance. That felony charge was later dropped.
Jones has reportedly been taking anger management classes since his arrest.
