Kevin Durant’s injury is a left calf strain and he is questionable for Game 2

Durant did not exit Game 1 with an injury.

Kevin Durant suffered a strained left calf in the Golden State Warriors’ Game 1 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, according to ESPN.com’s Chris Haynes. He is questionable for Game 2 on Wednesday.

Durant never exited the Warriors’ 121-109 victory over the Trail Blazers due to injury. He played 35 minutes, scored a team-high 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds in their opening playoff game.

But Durant’s strained calf is on the same leg on which he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise in early March, forcing him to miss more than a month’s time recovering.

The Warriors struggled early after losing their leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker, losing five of their first seven games after his injury. Golden State then reverted to its championship form, rattling off 14 straight wins and finishing the season winners of 15 of their last 16 games.

Warriors guard Shaun Livingston is also questionable for Game 2 with a right index finger sprain and hand contusion, according to Haynes. And Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic will not play on Wednesday, according to Comcast Sports Northwest’s Dwight Jaynes, as he rehabs from a fractured right leg.
