Bills offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio was taken to the Erie County Medical Center for observation after a strange interaction with police on Tuesday.
Bills OT Cyrus Kouandjio under hospital observation after strange run-in with police
Kouandjio reportedly yelled “shoot me” at officers as they approached him. He was not arrested.

No charges are expected to be filed against Kouandjio, according to John Wawrow of the Associated Press. He cooperated with law enforcement, per Wawrow.
When the Bills hit their training facility for OTAs on Thursday, Kouandjio was absent. The team released a statement saying they’re awaiting more details.
“We are aware of the matter involving Cyrus and are carefully monitoring his condition and gathering more information,” the statement said. “We don’t have all of the details, so we won’t have any further comment at this time.”
Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor weighed in, also.
Kouandjio was found by police in a field near the scene of an accident that closed down Route 400 for several hours, according to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News. Kouandjio had climbed over an electric fence to enter the field, and he was only partially clothed.
When officers approached him, Kouandjio yelled “Shoot me,” a police source told Carucci.
Police initially didn’t know who Kouandjio was, but after finding his car abandoned with Bills gear inside, they were able to make the connection.
The last time Kouandjio made headlines, it was under happier circumstances. Kouandjio, who was born in Cameroon, became a naturalized U.S. citizen last November.
