Cowboys legend Drew Pearson hilariously trolled Eagles fans like wrestling heel

The retired wide receiver got Philly fans all riled up while announcing Dallas’s selection of Chidobe Awuzie.

Former Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson had the honor of announcing Dallas’s second-round pick of the 2017 draft. Before he got down to business, he took the opportunity to troll Eagles fans.

To be fair, Eagles fans started it. As they are prone to do, they booed Pearson when he took the podium. Pearson was unfazed.

He announced the Cowboys’ selection of cornerback Chidobe Awuzie like a seasoned wrestling heel. He name-dropped the entire Cowboys organization and referenced its success just to get Eagles fans riled up.

“And on behalf of the five-time world champion Dallas Cowboys, Hall of Fame owner Jerry Jones, Gene Jones and the Jones family, Jason Garrett, all the Cowboys players that played before me, that played with me, and that played after me,” Pearson said, “with the 60th pick in the second round, the Cowboys select the defensive back from Colorado, Chidobe Awuzie.”

Cowboys fans at the draft loved it. Eagles fans did not.

We can’t be certain that the ring Pearson flashed at the crowd at the end of his enthusiastic speech was his Super Bowl XII ring from the Cowboys’ win following the 1977 season. We do, however, think it’s a rational guess.

Pearson entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa, and proceeded to have a productive tenure in Dallas. The three-time Pro Bowler finished his Cowboys Ring of Honor career with 489 receptions for 7,822 yards and 48 touchdowns.
