New Orleans Saints superfan Jarrius Robertson was supposed to announce the team’s third-round draft pick in Philadelphia. That changed, when Robertson was finally receiving his liver transplant back home on Saturday.
Saints superfan Jarrius Robertson missed announcing team’s pick to have long-awaited liver transplant
Robertson’s getting the liver transplant he and his family have been waiting on for quite some time.

Robertson has biliary atresia, which is a chronic liver disease that affects his growth. The 15-year-old has been in and out of the hospital ever since he had a liver transplant when he was just a year old.
Jarrius tweeted a thumbs up early Saturday afternoon:
His father, Jordy, expressed optimism in a Facebook Live video. “He’s ready. Man I must say I have a strong son, and we’re going to keep going. We didn’t sleep. We’ve been up all night. We’ve been waiting for this for 14 years. It starts a new life for us.”
According to ESPN’s Mike Triplett citing family members, prior to the surgery, “he was in good spirits, playing video games and “still hot” the Saints didn’t select LSU safety Jamal Adams in the first round of the draft.”
Leonard Fournette, who Jarrius spent time with at LSU’s pro day, sent his well wishes.
Louisiana native and Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West tweeted about Jarrius Saturday afternoon.
Robertson’s professional sports connections are not limited to just the NFL though.
He was also the star of the NBA All-Star Celebrity game, when he stepped out on the floor and showed everybody how it’s done.
The young man has had plenty of memories and great times, and now, the one day they’ve waited for the longest has arrived.
“As a father and a parent, I prayed for this day, that this day would come,” his father said. “So I need everyone to lift us up in prayer, to fight with us, to pray with us and to stick by us.”
