The horse racing world turns to Baltimore, Md. this week, where Always Dreaming will continue his quest for a Triple Crown in the second leg, the 142nd running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.

Ridden by John Velazquez and trained by Todd Fletcher, Always Dreaming won the Kentucky Derby nearly two weeks ago as a favorite. The horse enters this week as the favorite at the Preakness as well, with early 10-11 odds to prevail at Pimlico, per OddsShark.

In three of the last five years, the Kentucky Derby winner also won the Preakness Stakes, with American Pharoah completing the sport’s first Triple Crown in 37 years in 2015.

Television coverage of the 2017 Preakness Stakes will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 20 on NBC, with online streaming available through NBC Sports.

At 1 3/16 miles, the Preakness is the shortest of the Triple Crown races. Always Dreaming will find out where he starts with the post position draw on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, a Grade II race among 3-year-old fillies, will be run, starting at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The undercard of the Preakness begins at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with NBCSN also providing coverage of those races.
