NCAA lacrosse tournament 2017 results: Towson upsets No. 2 Syracuse for semifinal berth
No. 1 Maryland is in the final four for the fourth straight year.

Towson beat Syracuse, 10-7, on Sunday for its first semifinal berth since 2001. Towson built an early 8-2 lead thanks to four first-half goals from Joe Seider, who was firing off shots like this one:
Syracuse, a blue blood of the sport with more titles than any other school (10), rallied late to cut the six-goal deficit in half, but the comeback fell short, sending the Orange to just their third defeat of the season.
Earlier Sunday, top-seeded Maryland had no problems with No. 8 Albany, dispatching it easily with an 18-9 victory. Matt Rambo tallied eight points for the second straight game and set a couple school records in the process.
That gave the Terrapins a fourth consecutive berth in the NCAA semifinals, reaching the final four for the sixth time in the last eight years. Maryland last won a lacrosse championship in 1975.
Maryland has lost in the championship game in each of the last two seasons. To reach a third straight title game, the Terrapins will have to beat No. 5 Denver next Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., in a 2:30 p.m. ET contest.
The early game next Saturday will feature Towson battling No. 3 Ohio State in a 12 p.m. start. Both games next Saturday will be televised by ESPN2.
