Josh Norman promises it’s ‘going to get really ugly’ when he faces Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham Jr. in 2017

Josh Norman expects “a lot of fines and maybe some suspensions” in NFC East matchups this season.

Josh Norman has had some beef in the past with Dez Bryant and Odell Beckham, Jr., but he promises things will only continue to heat up in the NFC East in his second season in Washington.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, Norman did what he always does: Speak his mind. He described Bryant as “just a guy” and Beckham as “a kid,” claiming neither were on the level of Julio Jones or Antonio Brown.

With D.J. Swearinger now behind Norman in the Washington secondary, the sixth-year cornerback believes all hell is going to break loose when he meets the star receivers of the NFC East in 2017.

“Trust me when I tell you, it’s going to be bad blood this year,” Norman told Bleacher Report. “You think the NFC East didn’t like each other before? This year right here? There’s going to be a lot of fines and maybe some suspensions. I’m going to be honest with you: This shit is going to get really ugly. Because I do have a safety that don’t give a fuck and I definitely don’t. And I know they don’t have that many people on the offense who do on their side.”

Norman’s battles with Beckham predate the five-year, $75 million deal the cornerback signed with Washington in April 2016. The two first literally butted heads in 2015 while Norman was still a member of the Carolina Panthers.

The game earned Beckham a one-game suspension and Norman a $26,000 fine, but the two made an effort to bury the hatchet before their rematch nine months later.

While there were contentious moments between the two in 2016, they mostly played nice.

The same can’t be said about Norman and Bryant. When the two met in November, Norman claimed Bryant confronted him after the game and told him “Where I’m from, we don’t lip, we unload the clip.”

“He doesn’t ‘wow’ you,” Norman said of Bryant to Bleacher Report. “For me, he don’t. For other guys, he probably will do the worst to them because he’ll bully them. But you can’t bully a bully. You know what I’m saying? That’s why his game doesn’t resonate to me.”

Shortly after the article was published with Norman’s comments, Bryant retweeted a comment from a fan that doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

Norman has never been one to back down to a challenge and with Alshon Jeffery now on the Philadelphia Eagles, all three NFC East opponents should provide fireworks for Washington.
