Who are some Kentucky Derby contenders to watch?
While there’s still plenty of time for the betting lines to shift, there are a handful of early favorites. Always Dreaming is currently at the top of the board at +400, according to OddsShark. He was the winner of the Florida Derby last month and did so while putting up an astonishing speed. Classic Empire is just behind at +425. He’s struggled with injuries since winning last year’s Breeder’s Cup, but he rebounded with a victory at last month’s Arkansas Derby. Irish War Cry, Gunnevera, and McCraken are also early frontrunners ahead of the pack.
