If you grew up near any significant body of water in the northern hemisphere, you know summer time is sailing time. Lace up those boat shoes and pack a cabled sweater in case it gets blustery, because the sport’s biggest event is back.
2017 America’s Cup qualifiers live stream: Start time, TV channel, and how to watch Tuesday online

The 2017 America’s Cup is already underway after qualifiers began last Friday. Tuesday will see even more action as the round robins continue in hopes of whittling a six-team field down to four. The American team, billionaire Larry Ellison’s Oracle Team, has a significant advantage as returning champions. Their status as victors means they’ll get a fast pass into the finals no matter what they do. That doesn’t mean they’ve been coasting on their reputation, however — Oracle is 4-1 through the first four days of races. That record, combined with a bonus point for finishing second in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series, has Ellison’s team in first place.
That leaves teams from five other countries chasing them. Emirates Team New Zealand, based out of the same yacht club that won the Cup in 1995 and 2000, is neck and neck with the Americans at 4-1. The British team at Land Rover BAR currently stands in third, but is fading fast. The World Series champions began qualifying in first place but have promptly lost four straight races to teeter closer and closer to an early exit from Bermuda.
They’ll have to fend off challenges from Sweden, Japan, and France, all of whom have already won a pair of races in round robin qualifying.
Team | Wins | Losses | Total points |

*Great Britain and the United States get two and one bonus points, respectively, for their finishes in the 2015-16 America’s Cup World Series finishes.
