Now that the 2017 Kentucky Derby is behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the 2017 Preakness, which will take place in a couple Saturdays, on May 20 from the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.
Preakness 2017: Date, time, location and more
The second leg of the Triple Crown takes place in a couple weeks.

On Saturday, the Kentucky Derby winner was Always Dreaming, who won it with a time of 2:03.59, so the eyes will be on him moving forward into the Triple Crown.
The 142nd Running of the Preakness Stakes will mark the second check mark for horses and their jockeys to capture horse racing’s elusive Triple Crown. The last horse to do that was American Pharoah in 2015, becoming just the 12th horse to do it, and the first since Affirmed in 1978. The Preakness race is 1-3/16 miles. The schedule for next Saturday’s race can be found below
Everything you need to know about horse racing’s biggest achievement, and why we still care so much about one of the rarest feats in sports.
Date: Saturday, May 20
Post time: 6:45 p.m.
TV: Coverage starts at 5:00 p.m. ET on NBC
Live Stream: It can be streamed through NBC Sports.
Given the wet conditions that were on hand at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, hopefully the weather in Baltimore can give the track better conditions. Per usual, this year’s Preakness should be an entertaining and exciting race.
