John Daly celebrates 1st Champions Tour win with champagne shower
John Daly captures his first win on the Champions Tour — and first since 2004 on the PGA Tour — and of course gets sprayed with champagne.

John Daly commemorated the one-year anniversary of his PGA Tour Champions debut by winning the tournament for his first victory on the over-50 circuit and first official tour triumph since the Buick Invitational in 2004.
Daly, who finished Sunday’s final round with three straight bogeys, held on to his 54-hole lead over Kenny Perry, who owns eight Ws among the seniors. He closed out the three-day contest at The Woodlands County Club in Houston with a 3-under 69 to go with two other sub-70 rounds (68-65).
On his way to putting the closing touches on the victory, Daly kneeled down on the grass clad in Loudmouth stars and strips to kiss the umbrella logo honoring the late Arnold Palmer, who designed the 27-hole Palmer Course on the Texas property.
And then, of course, the 51-year-old fan favorite celebrated as only Daly could — by being sprayed with champagne.
“It’s awesome. It wasn’t the greatest of finishes but … hey a win’s a win, man,” Daly said after besting Perry and Tommy Armour III by one stroke, 14-under to 13-under. “It’s pretty cool.”
