Most of the core members of the 2008-11 Boston Celtics had a little reunion on TNT Monday night, hanging out in Kevin Garnett’s Area 21 studio for nostalgic chats about the championship season and heartbreaks that followed. Ray Allen was missing due to bad blood — bad blood discussed in one of the segments — but Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Paul Pierce, and Glen Davis were all there.
Here’s why Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis was so uncomfortable when Doc Rivers crashed the Celtics reuinion
Awkward.

Then Doc Rivers showed up via satellite. This was how the crew reacted.
Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, and Perkins all have healthy, loving relationships with Doc, the coach of those teams (and more recently, Pierce’s coach with the Clippers). Big Baby Davis ... does not have a healthy, loving relationship with Doc.
This winter, Davis declared that Doc was “lucky as hell” to win a championship in 2008. He called Rivers overrated. Big Baby then went on a mini media tour ripping Doc’s abilities.
That made this little visit a bit awkward. Look at Big Baby trying to disappear into his chair.
I am cringing on Big Baby’s behalf.
Big Baby does not find a story about Rondo throwing a water bottle at Doc particularly funny, unlike everyone else on stage.
So we really learned two things on Monday night: The core Celtics inexplicably still have beef with Ray Allen, and Big Baby Davis is super uncomfortable even virtually being in the same room as Doc Rivers. Ubuntu!
