Mike Brown got his ‘sweet revenge’ against the Cavaliers

Brown was great in filling in for Steve Kerr. But there’s no question he’s enjoying this one a different way compared to the rest.

Part of the Warriors championship run included Mike Brown filling in for Steve Kerr as head coach while he was recovering from chronic back pain.

Brown had previously coached the Cavaliers twice, and coached Game 1 of the NBA Finals against his former team, getting the win. So of course, this photo of him holding the Mercury News with the “SWEET REVENGE” cover has even more meaning for him.

Before the Finals started, he compared facing his old team to The Lion King, saying it was “the Circle of Life.”

It’s all over the place. It’s not something that I can hide from or run from. All I said is ‘it is what it is.’ I don’t have any control over what the storyline is going to be. It’s a little ironic that things happen in life this way ... it’s like The Lion King. It’s the Circle of Life.

Brown also had tons of fun while filling in for Kerr. Before Game 2, he joked with referee Tony Brothers who was walking by during an interview.

He also almost got arrested during their series against the Spurs. In his own words, he was “feeling himself a little bit.”

Everybody in the Warriors organization has to be feeling good for different reasons, and Brown has a very special one of his own. He’s gotten a championship with a team that appears to be destined to be a dynasty — and he even got to be the head man for a stretch.
