Claressa Shields will face Nikki Adler for WBC title in just her 4th professional fight

The two-time Olympic gold medalist made history at the 2016 Olympics. Now she’s eyeing her first world title.

Claressa Shields (3-0) will face off against Nikki Adler (16-0) for the WBC super-middleweight world title in August. The IBF super-middleweight championship will also be up for grabs in the fight, which will be in Detroit and air on Showtime. The bout will be Shields’ fourth pro fight.

Shields has gone undefeated since joining the professional ranks earlier in 2016 after making history as the first boxer, male or female, to win back-to-back gold medals at the Olympics.

Shields expressed her excitement about the upcoming fight on her Instagram page.

The fight will be Shields’ second time headlining a nationally televised bout since beating Szilvia Szabados for the NABF middleweight title in March.
