For the Golden State Warriors, it is always peanut butter jelly time

Look at this Game 4 spread!

Game 4 is a big night for the Warriors. The team needs to make sure it’s fueled up tonight more than ever. Of course, they players are, by eating hella PB&J sandwiches.

Just look at that spread in the locker room; they’ve got both strawberry and grape Smucker’s Uncrustables, plus all the fixings to BYO (that’s build your own, for those of you unfamiliar).

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are an integral part of the NBA — really, the sandwich typically reserved for school lunches has a long and storied past in the league, chronicled very well by ESPN.

For tonight, all you need to know is there was a time that the Warriors did not have such easy access to the delicacy, when their former head of physical performance and sports medicine banned them along with other sugary treats.

Luckily, Luke Walton, who at the time was the interim coach while Steve Kerr was out for health reasons, rallied the team behind Steph Curry, and the PB&Js prevailed. Curry prefers “Smucker’s strawberry, Skippy creamy” sandwiches for his pregame snack.

Sure enough, if you look closely at that picture, there’s Smucker’s strawberry on the left and Skippy (natural) creamy on the right.
