The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Patrick Sharp reunited in free agency on a one-year, $800,000 contract, the team announced Saturday. The deal also includes $200,000 in potential games played bonuses, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.
Patrick Sharp returns to Blackhawks in free agency on 1-year deal
Sharp played with Chicago from 2005 to 2015.

The Stars acquired Sharp and defenseman Stephen Johns in a 2015 summer trade that sent Trevor Daley and Ryan Garbutt to Chicago.
It’s just the latest in a series of recent moves to bring former Blackhawks back into the Chicago fold. Last week, GM Stan Bowman traded Artemi Panarin to the Blue Jackets for Brandon Saad, who was teammates with Sharp on the Blackhawks’ 2015 Stanley Cup team.
The deal is likely similar to the one Brian Campbell signed in 2016, which included a low base salary and performance-based bonuses. Campbell won the 2010 Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks.
Sharp, 35, has won three Stanley Cups, all with the Blackhawks. In 869 career games, Sharp has 277 goals and 599 points. He can line up at either wing and is a solid contributor on the power play.
