Houston Texans rookie running back D’Onta Foreman was arrested early Sunday morning and charged for possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to the Austin American-Statesman’s Brian Davis. Foreman, who attended the University of Texas, was arrested on campus by university police.

Foreman was able to post bond, which totaled $1,000 for the drug charge and $3,500 for the weapons charge. He was released around noon on Sunday.

Campus police responded to a report of the smell of marijuana coming from three separate vehicles parked on campus. Officers found marijuana in each of the vehicles, and a firearm in one. Foreman, the owner of the firearm, was taken into custody. The other occupants of each vehicle were charged with possession of marijuana and released.

Foreman was a third-round selection by the Houston Texans in the 2017 NFL draft. The team issued a statement via Twitter:

Foreman’s attorney, Chip Lewis, released a statement on his client’s behalf.

During his final season at Texas, Foreman rushed for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns en route to being named last year’s Doak Walker award winner.
