What a weird sports week, yeah? Kyrie Irving won’t talk to the Cavaliers, almost a million people watched two high school phenoms play basketball, and NFL training camp opened with Antonio Brown riding into town in a 1931 Rolls Royce with his own chauffeur.
8 can’t-miss sports events to watch this weekend
Football is around the corner, but until then ... GOOD SPORTS!

What a time to be alive. This weekend’s sport slate might be a little leaner than normal, but think of it as a palate cleanser — a violent, potentially bloody UFC palate cleanser. College football is less than a month away, and the NFL Hall of Fame Game is in less than a week! FOOTBALL IS BACK!
WHAT TO WATCH
All times Eastern.
UFC 214
Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier meet again to settle their differences in the octagon. Neither fighter likes each other and neither one has shown any signs of backing down. And that means there are going to be fireworks. UFC 214 airs live on pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
MLB
The Dodgers and Giants meet on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN starting at 8 p.m. It’s a case of the have and the have-nots in the NL West as the surging Dodgers aim to further increase their lead in the division. Who knows what kind of moves the Dodgers could make at the deadline, which increases the drama for Sunday night.
SOCCER
The International Champion’s Cup rolls on into the weekend with Saturday being a premier day to watch ALL THE GAMES. It kicks off Saturday morning on ESPN2 with Chelsea vs. Inter Milan at 7:35 a.m. Then Manchester City and Tottenham face off at 2:35 p.m. Finally, we have the big one on ESPN at 8:05 p.m. when Real Madrid takes on Barcelona.
The USWNT aims to bounce back after a shocking loss to Australia in its international friendly series. USA takes on Brazil Sunday night on ESPN2 at 8 p.m.
NASCAR
NASCAR heads to the Tricky Triangle at Pocono Raceway this weekend for the 21st race of the season. Coverage begins at 3 p.m. Sunday on NBCSN.
Formula 1
Sunday is a good day for racing with F1 traveling to Hungary. The Budapest track is hailed as “Monaco without the walls,” and Lewis Hamilton will seek a sixth win on the track in his career. NBCSN has coverage beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday.
