Free agent point guard Brandon Jennings has accepted a one-year deal worth $1.5 million to play overseas with the China Shanxi, according to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears. He hopes he can return to the NBA and add onto a once promising young career.
Brandon Jennings headed to China on 1-year deal worth $1.5 million
Jennings hopes to return to the NBA after his stint with the China Shanxi.

Jennings started last season with the Knicks, signing a one-year deal worth $5 million to play in New York last summer. He averaged 8.6 points and 4.9 assists per game as a backup to Derrick Rose in the first half of the season. But as the Knicks imploded last year — forced into a triangle offense few players truly wanted to run — Jennings found a way out.
He accepted a buyout to join a playoff-bound Wizards team after the trade deadline. In limited play time behind John Wall, Jennings averaged 3.5 points and 4.7 assists off the bench.
Jennings was known most for scoring 55 points in a single game in his first season with the Bucks, the fourth most ever scored by a rookie in NBA history. But he had difficult finding the basket last season. He was viewed by most as a pass-first guard — his flashy passes wowed Madison Square Garden audiences on a nightly basis — but struggled mightily finishing at the rim and shooting from downtown.
Between Washington and New York, Jennings shot 31 percent from downtown and 35.9 percent from the field.
