3 NFL teams pulled off 2 surprise trades. How did everyone react?

The Rams, Eagles, and Bills made some moves Friday. Here are the best reactions.

The Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and the Philadelphia Eagles reshaped their rosters on Friday by making eye-popping trades. Buffalo traded Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round draft pick to the Rams for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round pick. Then, Buffalo decided to trade cornerback Ronald Darby to the Eagles for receiver Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick.

No one saw these trades coming, so let’s take a look and see how the fans and players reacted to it.

Players say goodbye (and hello again) to teammates

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and receiver Torrey Smith were sad to see Matthews go and praised him for being a great teammate.

Receiver Marcus Johnson went a bit further and wrote a brief post on Instagram about how much Matthews had an impact on him as a friend and teammate.

Rams receiver Robert Woods, who played in Buffalo from 2013-16, seems excited about reuniting with Watkins in Los Angeles.

And both Watkins and Darby thanked the Bills before getting ready for their “new chapter”:

Let’s check in with the team blogs

Sosa Kremenjas of Turf Show Times loves the Rams trading for Watkins. Kremenjas believes Los Angeles finally found its No. 1 receiver that it desperately needed.

“He can work all levels of the field effectively, and was one of the leagues best deep threats. For an offense that lacks one, he fits in perfectly. Not only that, but his hands are strong, his routes are clean and sharp, and Sammy is a freak of nature. His natural ability to glide through his routes creating big separation will be a massively welcomed addition to this roster.”

Buffalo Rumblings created a poll that asks fans to vote on whether or not they approved of the Watkins and Darby trades. As of right now, the votes are split, with a sliver more fans approving of it.

Bleeding Green Nation also asked fans to grade the Eagles-Bills trade. Brandon Lee Gowton gave an in-depth rundown of positives and negatives of the trade. He gave it a B, and the majority of readers agree.

Then there’s this guy

This guy tweeted that he had just bought a Bills jersey with Watkins’ name on the back.

Buuuut it was fake news:

Never tweet.
