LeBron James says Donald Trump made hate ‘fashionable again’

The Cleveland Cavaliers star expressed his displeasure about the president’s recent comments regarding Charlottesville.

LeBron James spoke out Tuesday against President Donald Trump’s defense of his original response to the weekend’s events in Charlottesville, Virginia, which left many injured and one dead.

James expanded on his comments at a family foundation event later Tuesday night:

Over the weekend, James also tweeted about the white supremacist rally as it was happening, making a direct reference to the president’s “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan.

James is no stranger to social activism and he’s not the only athlete to criticize the president’s comments on Tuesday. Former NBA players Steve Nash and Ray Allen shared their thoughts as well:
